Squirrel Control and Removal
Michigan is home to a number of different varieties of squirrels. The Grey Squirrel, Foxx Squirrel, Red Squirrel and Flying Squirrel are all found in Michigan. The most common problem squirrel is the Red Squirrel who like to get in attics.
Habitat
Squirrels move into open gaps in the roofline of a home, garage, or barn. They will also chew into the house to gain access to the attic.
Squirrels will follow trees and utility lines to the house and will bring pine cones, nuts etc in the structure for storage.
How Many Squirrels Do I Have?
Squirrels can breed twice a year, and will usually have 2-4 babies per litter.
What Damage Can Squirrels Cause?
Squirrels cause a variety of damage to your home. They chew holes in soffits, facia, eves and screens. When in the house, one concern is that they can chew on wiring.
As well as physical damage, you will also have to deal with hearing squirrels running in the attic, scratching noises and the sound of nuts been rolled around!

How Do I Get Rid Of Squirrels?
Squirrels can be trapped year round. It is highly important to identify the entry point into the house and remedy it to prevent future infestation. It is also important to trim back trees around the house to prevent squirrels getting access to the roof again.
All homes are different and must be inspected to find all gaps and holes.
It is also really important to not feed birds! Squirrels (as well as mice/rats and other animals) live close to a food source. By feeding birds we are in fact increasing the chance of a squirrel trying to get access to the house.
